51 people remain missing after a coal mine collapse in Alxa Left Banner, Inner Mongolia

On February 22, 2023, a large area of open-pit coal collapsed in Xinjing Coal Industry Co., LTD., Alxa Left Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, and staff and vehicles were buried. The reporter learned at the scene of the accident that rescue work is being carried out urgently.

Li Zhongzeng, deputy secretary of the Alxa League League Committee and chief of the League, said that the rescue has been continuing, and the 43-member expert group composed of the state, autonomous region and Alxa League is further evaluating and further optimizing the rescue plan at the scene. As of 0:30 on the 23rd, 51 people were still missing after verification

At present, there are 11 rescue teams, about 470 people, and more than 130 large rescue machinery. Li Zhongzeng introduced that the amount of landslides is huge, and the rescue is very difficult.
